Homeowners Insurance Coverage Policies
48Homeowners Insurance Coverage Policies & Quotes
As a homeowner, there are four types of standard home insurance policies available to you.
The first type of homeowners insurance coverage available to you is coverage for the home's structure. This insures the structure of your house and any other unattached structures. Other unattached structures normally include your garage. It protects you from fire, lightenining, theft, explosions, vandalism, snow and more.
The second type of home insurance is personal property coverage. It protects your personal items from the same types of events listed in the first type of coverage. Items insured will include furnishings, artwork, jewelry, appliances and more.
The third type of home insurance coverage is legal responsibility. This coverage provides you with compensation for legal fees and medical expenses when you are found liable. You should have coverage up to $320,000 for this.
The fourth type of homeowners insurance coverage is temporary living expense. This will insure you for temporary living costs, meals while your house is being repaired because of an accident.
These four types of home insurance policies vary in costs quite a bit. I recommend looking at all your options for a homeowners insurance policy and getting as many quotes as you can.
